Session Two - The Haunted Ship

[2023/07/16 15:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: As I recall it, last time our Bard and Mecha, aka Leesha decided to head to the nearest temple, leaving Sapphire aka Debbin and Megan sitting in a near-empty tavern, when a rather aggressive-looking person in the uniform of the city guard came in.
[2023/07/16 15:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: And with that reminder out of the way, time for me to say Grrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeetings adventurers... some parties get proper introductions, you just get dumped in the deep end.
[2023/07/16 15:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: We'll start at the tavern: the city guard who just shoved the door open has just said "Nobody move," and smiled as if only they will get to laugh at any jokes. Debben.... what next?

[2023/07/16 15:53] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben is busy enjoying the taste of her beer (thin but cheap). She pauses with the tankard at her lips. "Now what?"
[2023/07/16 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan frowns and pauses mid-sip herself. "Fuck knows..." she mutters. The guard strolls in slowly, pausing to give Debben and Megan a glare, then she passes by and heads to the table where three rough-looking guys are playing cards and trying to ignore everyone else.
[2023/07/16 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Fingers McGee," she says, stopping at the table. "Weren't you in prison last week?"
[2023/07/16 15:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben turns to look, listening in on the situation, sipping her mug. If the guards want McGee than they'll be too busy to deal with her own semi-wanted state.
[2023/07/16 15:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: "awh, c'mon," says a man, apparantly to his cards, "I got let out for good behaviour." The guard just shakes her head. "Good behaviour? I have it on good authority that you were behind the robbery of old Granny Fairfax in Filigree Street last week."
[2023/07/16 16:00] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan just looks at Debben. "Uh oh."
[2023/07/16 16:00] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben lifts a brow, thinking she knows this fairfax but not entirely sure how. Does the guard seem focused on fingers enough that a simple stroll out of the bar might work?
[2023/07/16 16:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guard seems almost excessively focused on McGee.
[2023/07/16 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: anything else?
[2023/07/16 16:06] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Nope, Debben will quietly slip sideways from her seat, and walk her way out of the pub, with a casual air as if she's doing nothing wrong at all.
[2023/07/16 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan stays where she is, too surprised by your sneaking off, as the guard grabs McGee by his collar. She calls to the barkeeper: "I'm just going to borrow your cellar, Fingers here is going to help me with my enquiries..." - and Debben practically runs into two guards waiting outside.
[2023/07/16 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: And at this point, we'll go to Leesha :P
[2023/07/16 16:10] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is still moving best she can towards teh temple.
[2023/07/16 16:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: Leesha of course is at the temple, where she meets some low level clerics. By some plot contrivance our Bard gets distracted by clerics wanting a new book of hymns to be written, thus neatly writing her out of the plot. Yes it's a contrivance, best I can come up with. Over to Leesha :P
[2023/07/16 16:12] Alicia Frakture: /me Leesha to the clerics."Anyone in this place do healing?" As she shows her wound, and by this point she had to have coughed up a bit of blood.
[2023/07/16 16:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: A cleric comes over, with the usual hands-clasped-in-sleeves-of-his-robes pose typical of fantasy clerics. "You look like you're in a bad way, indeed. A donation of thirty gold to the Temple will see the blessings of our god come down on you."
[2023/07/16 16:15] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods and hands it over, even if she was a fan of haggling, she was in no position to do so.
[2023/07/16 16:16] Sonja Bikergrrl: The priest is luckily not insulted by haggling for holy help, and chants and waves his hands. Leeshas' wounds close, and she feels much better. (Healed back to full health)
[2023/07/16 16:16] Alicia Frakture: *I meant she doesn't even try to haggle, she just pays.*
[2023/07/16 16:16] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at the cleric."thank you for that, feeling much better."
[2023/07/16 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: (So did I... haggling in a temple wouldn't be a great idea!)
[2023/07/16 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: The priest bows a little. "You are welcome, child."
[2023/07/16 16:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Next from Leesha?)
[2023/07/16 16:18] Alicia Frakture: Leesha smiles and heads for the door and back out to the tavern, scanning to see if anyone thought she was an easy mark as she came in
[2023/07/16 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: No one seems to be following Leesha particularly; meanwhile... back at the tavern... Debben is with two rather surprised-looking guards. They clearly weren't expecting anyone coming out so quickly
[2023/07/16 16:22] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Good afternoon," she announces confidently, "your friend might want some assistance with the friends of Mr McGee in there," and attempts to walk around them as if this were a perfectly normal thing to be doing.
[2023/07/16 16:22] Sonja Bikergrrl: The two guards look at each other, the quickly move to block Debben. "I think we should take you in for questioning..." one says.
[2023/07/16 16:24] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( Checking my sheet.... )
[2023/07/16 16:24] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( Hmmmm.... should I go mildly chaotic or very chaotic? ))
[2023/07/16 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Oh dear...)
[2023/07/16 16:26] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( How quick do my illusion spells come out from the time I begin a casting? ))
[2023/07/16 16:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Quite quickly, since it's first level, but do bear in mind you'll be against two others, not great odds)
[2023/07/16 16:27] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( They both get their own will saves, as it were? ))
[2023/07/16 16:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: (depending on the spell? Yes, usually.)
[2023/07/16 16:29] Alicia Frakture: (I know it may be a minute or two in game time but let me know when Leesha gets back to the inn
[2023/07/16 16:30] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Crud there's two of them, which greatly complicates her original plan, but she can adapt. She'll use her thumb to work a spell from inside of her pocket, sending an illusion of herself sprinting away from the inn, and then personally moving in whichever direction the guards aren't looking. *Should have just sat tight, waited things out.*

[2023/07/16 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guards are very eagle eyed and nimble. They spot the spell and are mentally prepared for it, and don't fall for the spray of magic power that Debben unleashes. Both draw they swords, one on the left, one on the right. "You're under arrest!" shouts one of them. "You better come quietly!"
